Order Update – The Latest Information on Your Items

If you are waiting for items to arrive and want the latest information on them, then this is the best place to find it.  First a brief explanation of the way things are.  Below this you will find regularly updated info on coins you are likely to be waiting for.

Why Items Sometimes Take Longer to Arrive

Because The Royal Mint refuse to deal with us and other independent businesses directly, our stock takes longer to arrive.  Cutting a long story short…..  Our supplier in the Netherlands buys stock from The Royal Mint.  We then purchase our stock from them.  So….. we then have to wait for this to arrive before we are able to send it out to our customers.

That is a LOT of unnecessary silliness just to be able to sell coins to our customers for a realistic price!  In fact, many items will have been flown, driven and walked around for over 1,000 miles before arriving with you.  It is also worth noting that if The Royal Mint WERE willing to deal with us and other independent businesses, then we could drive over and collect our order in roughly an hour and a half.  It really is a crazy world!!!

Overseas shipping update

As if there hadn’t been enough issues with Royal Mail already…..

Please go the the link below so you understand what is currently happening with overseas shipping.  If you are a non UK buyer this could shed far more light on why you are still waiting for your order :/

Latest Change-Checker-com ebay update –

Our eBay inbox has been inundated with hundreds of messages over Christmas and the New Year, with some people messaging even on Christmas Day to ask why their coin has not been delivered.  We have some people getting angry with us over Royal Mail strikes and delivery issues along with those who have genuine grievances over our delivery.

The ebay restriction is still in placeon our account and is causing much anxiety.  I myself have worked most of Christmas sending out King Charles 50p’s.  We’ve had over 8,000 sales of the King Charles coins with some people not knowing about release dates or indeed knowing the difference between uncirculated, circulated and Brilliant Uncirculated.  The workload has increased significantly with just the three of us dealing with all the enquiries.  There are also some people leaving negative comments whilst they have not only got their coin but have also received an eBay refund because they put in disputes and refused to cancel them.  For these limited sales we will obviously look at legal action later once everything has died down.  Whilst we give this updates link in every auto response from the eBay messages, not everyone reads the auto response.  As crazy as this sounds, in the auto response we point out and ask people not to clog up the system with multiple messages.  Not only is that being ignored, but people actually message telling us not to reply with an auto message (and of course they get an auto response which inflames them even further).

For the ‘nice’ people out there I am very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing and as soon as we can get on top of all this we will.  In the meantime please be patient.  Everyone will get what they paid for, it may just take a longer because the workload has gone up.  The more messages we answer or refunds we give, the more time is taken away from actually posting.  Please just be patient and we will get to you.

Kindest regards and happy New Year,

Ian

And….. a quick note from me as well –

Okay, we know about all of the problems there have been over recent weeks (many of which are nothing to do with TGBCH)…… but let’s all take a breath here and try to keep our cool.  Keep it real and keep the faith – you WILL get the items you have paid for 🙂

King Charles 50p – Circulated and Uncirculated

We now have these in stock and we are in the process of sending them out.  Unfortunately, we have been hampered with a huge amount of messages since this coin went out into circulation.  Please don’t message unless absolutely necessary as we would prefer to use the time getting coins packed and sent off.

Please note – it was only released on the 6th December and we started obtaining them on the 9th December.

We are getting them out as fast as we can so please bear with us 🙂  Your patience is appreciated.

Harry Potter 50p RM Packaged and Harry Potter 1oz Silver

These are now in stock are The Postman is busy bundling up and posting orders!

The King Charles £5 and 50p

We have recieved some of these which have already gone out to customers.  As soon as additional stock arrives we will be completing any remaining orders!

All of the following items have just arrived and The Postman is now in the process of getting these bundled up and sent off –

– Birmingham Commonwealth Games Silver Proof
– Birmingham Commonwealth Games Piedfort
– Birmingham Commonwealth Games BUNC Packaged
– Alan Turing Silver Proof
– Alan Turing Piedfort
– Alan Turing BUNC Packaged
– Prince William 40th Birthday Piedfort
– Prince William 40th Birthday BUNC Packaged
– 50 Years Pride Silver Proof
– 50 Years Pride BUNC Packaged
– Eeyore Silver Proof
So, if you were waiting on any of these it shouldn’t be very long now 🙂
But….. please remember that Royal Mail are currently striking – lots of times.  This will clearly have some effect (in some areas more than others at a guess) so items may be delayed slightly.  Thank you for your patience 🙂

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 2022 UK 50p and £5

BUNC  50p and £5– as shown in the screenshot above (taken from Royal Mint website), this is the current situation.  Of course, if these become available any sooner then we will be able to dispatch them faster.  To our knowledge, this is the longest waiting time EVER that Royal Mint have given for an item.

CIRCULATED and UNCIRCULATED 50p – as soon as these start being delivered to banks and post offices we will be able to send them out.  Whether the circulated versions will appear BEFORE the packs arrive we do not know….

F.A. Cup – BUNC Packaged

BUNC versions – are now in stock and approx 90% have now been posted.  Only a few international orders to do now.

A POLITE REQUEST  – before diving straight in and leaving scathing feedback because your item is later than expected, please bear in mind what we are up against.  Please also be assured that we ALWAYS do our very best for our customers and will NEVER see anyone out of pocket.  We are more than willing to sort out any problems as quickly as we can so please just send us a polite message.

It is also worth remembering that due to the ridiculous situation (as explained above) with the way we are forced into acquiring our stock, it will sometimes mean items take longer to arrive.  We are only a small company but we always do as much as we can to ensure buyers get the items they want as soon as is humanly possible.  The lady who replies to messages only works part time so there may be a short delay sometimes with her getting back to you.  However, she always answers as quickly as possible so please make sure you are polite and couteous – it is not HER fault if your item is late getting to you.  She is also MY woman….

The last thing to mention is that if The Royal Mint decide to delay, cancel or change the release of a coin, this is nothing to do with us as a company and we are unable to change anything in this situation.

Thank you for reading this, for your patience and for your understanding!  🙂

In the very near future, clucking chickens will be on sale!
In the meantime, you could win £10 Kaspa by leaving a comment on said post….. 😉

  1. Thanks for explanation of problems, but your e-mail said it had been shipped. Is this not true? Quite happy to wait but hope if it was shipped that it has not gone missing. Thanks, joyful.

    1. Hello Joy,
If our email states it has been shipped then it will have been 🙂 The only problem now is the continual strikes by Royal Mail and the normal bedlam/non-working days by post office staff over the festive period.
I do hope your order arrives very soon and wishing you a very merry Christmas!
      Kindest regards,
      Mik

  2. Thank you for providing the explanation for the delay in shipping my order. I was one of those people who failed to see this message in a timely manner and was getting a bit frustrated. This message has reassured me that all is proceeding with due speed.

  3. Thank you so much for explaining – this really is helpful, I hope more people read your message properly because it sounds like things have been very difficult. It also reassured me that I will get the items I’ve purchased – allaying concerns I might have had. I wish you all a very happy new year – and you are totally right – it is nice to be nice! 🙂

    1. Hi Maddy 🙂
Thank you too for taking the time to put your appreciation into words. Yes, things have been pretty tough but we get there!
I do hope you aren’t waiting much longer for your items.
      Take care and kindest regards,
      Mik 🙂

      1. Thanks so much Mik. I am still awaiting my 2022 coin set – but hopefully it will be on it’s way soon. If there is any update that’d be great please? But I appreciate you guys are all under pressure and I’ve read the explanation about the sets which is very helpful. Kindest regards, Maddy 🙂

  4. Dear Ian and Team,

Thank you for this comprehensive update. My order is for a BBC 100th anniversary coin with original ETA late November. I did wait a while before messaging on ebay. A technical glitch may have occurred with the ebay out-of-office response as it is only following my third enquiry via the ebay route this evening (yes, hands-up, I’m one of the “try-again” culprits) that I have received a message with the link to this site. I have checked back though my spam and bin boxes to see if I missed anything.

Having read the above, thank you and I feel reassured that you are doing the best you can, given the current, sad state of the postal delivery service. I look forward to receiving my order as and when you work through the tremendous backlog.

    Best regards, Susan

    1. Thank you so much for your understanding Susan and also for your lovely message 🙂
Will get your order to you as soon as we possibly can.
      Take care and warmest regards,
      Mik

  5. I’ve been waiting since October time . I’ve contacted you. Being given some reasons out of stock, waiting for stock ,now have stock will prioritise, still waiting . Not impressed at all. Not a good service . Now still waiting .

    1. All we can do is apologise at the moment and try to get orders out as quickly as we can.
I would not be impressed either – at all. However, as explained at length, much of this has been beyond our control. And we also happen to be ‘not impressed’ with Royal Mail. Not only have they delayed things far further, we are also getting extra flack on behalf of them lol.
Take care, kindest regards and I do hope it is with you soon,
      Mik

  6. Hi TGBCH Team,
Thank you for the update of what is going on.
I was getting a bit worried as I ordered the Silver Piedfort BBC 100th anniversary coin 10th October.
I will carry on and wait as it is a lovely coin and I can’t wait to have it 😊
I feel reassured now that my coin will eventually turn up.
Good luck with your backlog of orders.
    Kind Regards
    Ronnie

    1. Hello Ronnie,
Thank you for your patience with this. It is very much appreciated 🙂
Take care and I do hope it is with you very soon.
      Mik

      1. Hi TGBCH Team,
Especially Ian 😊 , but you’re all stars!
Thank you so much, I’m truly grateful to you for sorting out my order. My coin (Christmas pressies to myself) came Saturday and I can’t put it down now lol. I’m so glad I hung on and had a little faith in you guys and gals. And knowing that when I bought it, it was a pre-order and I know how some coins have actually taken ages to come out for distribution causing you to get bad reactions from people when its not your fault.
Just a shame I can’t leave you guys feedback on Ebay now as it has been so long, so I’m putting my sort of feedback here😉
Thank you again and good luck with the rest of your backlog.
        Kindest Regards
        Ronnie

        1. Hello Ronnie 🙂
What a lovely message to receive. Thank you so very much for taking the time to write that and to post it on here. I can assure you it means a great deal indeed.
I am really glad your order got to you safely and that you are happy with it!
Take care of yourself and your support through everything is very much appreciated.
          Very kindest regards,
          Mik and Co 🙂

  7. Thank you for the explanation for the delay in the coin and you said that it was in the hands of one of your team members and it would be shipped asap and that was a lie as I’m been waiting since the beginning of December like many others and all I keep getting is when I get mail you is that you are out of the office until February 28th and which is very convenient for you so you don’t have to answer any of my emails

    1. Hello,
I am answering one of your emails. A rude and accusatory one.
I have nothing to do with shipping orders but I do know that everyone who IS responsible is doing everything possible to get items shipped. We are totally swamped as there have been over 8,000 orders for the King 50p alone.
We are not ‘out of office’ as a matter of convenience. It is an automated response which has always been in place. We also have one lady working part-time who is replying to messages and I happen to know she is also doing her level best to respond to everyone. Again, she is swamped.
I have also explained quite clearly that the more time we spend replying to people who are complaining about waiting, the less items we are able to pack. However, in this instance, I have taken it upon myself to put someone straight.
Take care and I sincerely hope you order gets to you as soon as possible,
Mik (Editor and nothing to do with packing orders)

  8. Hello,

I just received my 50 pence King Charles III / Queen Elizabeth II order today. Woot. But on eBay I can’t leave feedback and shows that you are no longer a registered user/seller. And I my second order for the King Charles III 5 pound coins does not show up in my purchase history at all. Is that order still going to be shipped or is the order cancelled and will be refunded? Order #09-09181-78274 placed on Oct 5th. Please let me know!
    Thanks,
    Barb

    1. Hello Barb,
‘Woot’ lol. Made me giggle 🙂
I am glad to hear the first one arrived with you safely. Regarding the other one, I am not sure as I am not involved in orders. I will try to find out for you and let you know.
Our eBay account has been restricted and this is why you are unable to access certain areas. Believe me, it is equally as frustrating for the lady who is trying to reply to messages as there are a lot where eBay will not allow her access to. And you can imagine how this will add fuel to the fire when it comes to irrate buyers….
Thank you for including your order number. Let me ask some questions and get back to you.
      Kindest regards,
Mik (Editor, Weaver of Words and Comment Reply-er To-er)

    2. UPDATE – It is not looking like you will get your items so we need to get you a full refund sorted.
Our sorter of messages re orders said-

‘I do not think we will be sending them and as she cannot find her order in her purchases (it should still come up) my advise would be to open a payment dispute with her payment provider as it is too old for ebay to step in. Unfortunately i can do nothing from my end.’

I hope this clarifies at least some of it for you.

      Regards,

      Mik

      1. Thank you Mik for the update. I will look into payment dispute tomorrow. Sorry for all the frustration for your “sorter of message”. And glad you got a giggle from my Woot! Sounds like you needed that.
        Take care,
        Barb

        1. You are very welcome Barb. And I sincerely hope you get it sorted – quickly and easily. I would be feeling just the same if it were me in your position I can assure you.
          Take care and kindest regards,
          Mik 🙂

      2. Quentin Trigallez

        Hello Mik,
Sorry to add fuel to the fire but do I understand correctly that the “old” Ebay orders won’t be delivered at all?
Mine was done 4th October, with number 25-09173-80086.

And actually, Ebay doesn’t offer other possibility than going directly to you, as order is more than 90 days old and you’re no more a known user on Ebay.

        What can we do then?
        Thanks for feedback.
        Quentin

        1. Hello Quentin,
Yes, that is correct unfortunately 🙁
Because your order is so old now and because our eBay account has been limited it means WE are limited with what we can do.
Ian has been telling people in your situation to ask for a refund via their original payment provider or he may be able to send some sort of alternative item/s if he has any that are suitable.
It really isn’t a great situation at all but it has all come about for a number of reasons – several of which were completely beyond our control.
I do hope you get it sorted okay with a minimal amount of aggro.
          Kindest regards,
          Mik

          1. Quentin Trigallez

Thanks for feedback Mik, but unfortunately, the original payment provider is myself. My bank won’t give my money back. So I can’t get refunded by myself but by you well.
Frankly speaking, I can understand delay in delivery but I can’t understand why the oldest orders are not fulfilled and why you can’t do anything if you have the coins now in stock (1st ordered, 1st delivered?), an order number, payment proof, my address, etc.
            (if you haven’t, I have)
            Regards,
            Q.

          2. I do not have anything to do with orders but will certainly ask the question for you Quentin. And yes, first ordered, first delivered is how we normally work. Because I am not directly involved I am unable to say what is/isn’t now in stock.
Please send your order number to – mik@tgbch.co.uk where it is private and I shall enquire straight away.
            Kindest regards,
            Mik

  9. Quentin Trigallez

    Hello Mik,
    Thanks for your 1st feedback.
Unfortunately, I can’t get any refund as my bank will never give back money for a payment made 4 months ago (life would be nice if banks would pay our purchases).
So you have my money since October and I don’t understand why you can’t do anything.

Frankly speaking, I can understand delays in deliveries but I can’t understand why you’re not able to fulfill your (oldest) orders if the coins are available and you have all information such as the order number, the payment evidence, my personal data, etc. (if you don’t have info, I have).
The first orders should be the first ones to be respected.

    Thanks for feedback, regards,
    Q.

    1. Hello Quentin,
Yes, I just replied to most of this a few minutes ago. I also agreed with you.
Since I am not involved with orders I was asking you for info to save time when I asked on your behalf. I do not have access to such things you see as I am the Editor and am only responsible for the written work and creative things at TGBCH…..
      Kind regards,
      Mik

      1. Xavier Jochmans

        Dear Mik

How is the situation now 3 weeks since the last update ?

I placed my order on October 1st and still in the waiting…

Are there new estimated dates ?

        1. Dear Xavier,
We are now getting there 3 weeks since the last update.
That would depend on what you ordered…….
If you can provide me with some info such as the order number I will ask the appropriate people to look into it for you. I have nothing to do with orders as I am the Editor here.
          Kindest regards,
          Mik

  11. Hi Mik… just catching up on the updates and comments above. I’d ordered 2022 BUNC set on 22/10 but not sure if that’s a lost order due to age or if you’re still clawing through boxes, chewing your hair and having many a cup of tea to get through… I recommend Jack Daniels, Uncle Jack is always kind.

    Details below
    Total: £35.95
    Order number: 08-09248-29552
    Item number: 195365247654

Wee update would be appreciated in due course when you can.

    Stay safe and sane…

    Damo

    1. Hey Damo 🙂
Thank you for making me laugh. Uncle Jack is most kind for sure and I have long been a pupil in his School for Making Things Easier.
I shall ask the appropriate persons to look into this for you. I am really sorry it is taking so long. And thank you so so much for your patience and the fact that you are able to sit and laugh about it all and send a friendly message.
Take care and I will make sure someone is in touch soon!
Love, peace and loveliness from Mik and Uncle Jack (aka Uncle Jim (who is also famed for his ease with life’s issues))

  12. Hi Mik & Ian (and everyone else)
Just a short note to thank you for your diligence and the updates in relation to the 2022 BUNC set that got caught up in the postal strikes, Mint supply issues and Ebay Store issues which have kept you on your toes.
I knew it was an advance order when I ordered it in October.. but everything else was beyond your control and you have stayed in contact and resolved it by going above and beyond.
You managed my expectations when things went Tonto on you and I am really pleased with your service and assistance throughout.
    Many thanks
    Damo

    1. Hello Damo,
That is so very kind of you to take the time to put your feelings into a message. Thank you very much my friend. It is genuinely appreciated!
Yes, and it is jolly frustrating when we have done everything properly and then other parts of the chain do not work properly. This is in turn means we are letting our customers down and that is NOT what we ever want to do.
But we got there in the end!
Look after yourself and I hope your coins have found a nice place in your collection.
      Kindest regards,
      Mik 🙂
